The Family Dinner: 18 November 2007

Tonight was our first night in the "family stay" house. Gisela made a chicken dish that was delicious with cebollas (onions) and roasted potatoes. Paco ate some of the chicken while we had a snack with him. We put him to bed, and then ate like Argentine grown-ups at 9:30! Our company was fun and diverse. Scott, 20, is from San Diego, Eva Maria, whom I suspect is about 30, is Swiss, Sabrina, a bit younger (and traveling independently from Eva) is also Swiss, and then Alex, Gisela's 19-year old son, who has longish hair and plays the drums and Paco thinks is a rock star.

The kitchen is facing the lake, and has beautiful views of the mountains as well. It is directly below our room. At dinner, the chatting was about everything, mostly in Spanish, on occasion in English. Gisela speaks English well and lived in Berkeley long ago. She also speaks German, and has a strong German influence, though I never quite got the story from where.

She told us to leave our laundry and her housekeeper, Marissa would do it. Does Gisela know what that means?
